We would like to welcome you to the open round table of the international LE:NOTRE Landscape Forum. The open round table will be held in Tartu, Estonia, and will be broadcasted online as well.
Everyone whose work is related to the preservation and sustainable management of landscapes, including urban spaces, is kindly invited to take part in this day. The event, open to all, will take place on Friday, June 28, in Tartu from 11 AM to 3 PM. On this day, the results of the four-day Landscape Forum will be presented, and in the afternoon round table, a public discussion on local landscapes will be launched. The topics are: water landscapes, forest landscapes, fiberlandscapes, food landscapes, recreational landscapes, nature tourism, and the diverse transportation city of Tartu. The LE:NOTRE Landscape Forum is based on several European agreements such as the European Landscape Convention, the Paris Climate Agreement, and other green policy documents and strategies. It is driven by the challenges that the world, including Europe, is facing: climate change, migration, resources overconsumption, food insecurity, loss of connection to one's homelands in physical, cultural, and social aspects; as a result, the sustainability of landscapes suffers, and the survival of humanity is endangered.
The Landscape Forum will take place on June 24-28 in Tartu, with excursions to South Estonia. About 100 researchers, lecturers, students, and practitioners from all over Europe, including Estonia, will gather at the forum to discuss the challenges of local landscapes and learn from international experience. The forum is organized by the Chair of Landscape Architecture at the Estonian University of Life Sciences in cooperation with the Le:Notre Institute. We have compiled the forum's themes and the reasons why this forum is being held for the 12th time in Europe and why it is being organized in Tartu. See the attached file titled "Landscape Forum... invitation."
If you cannot participate in the entire forum, we invite you to join us for the open round table day, which will take place on June 28 from 11 AM to 3 PM in the main building of the Estonian University of Life Sciences.
